Starting the program

sweep [-h] [--help] [-v] [--version] [--display display] [filename]...

The view window

The main waveform display shows the peaks of the sound in green, and the average amplitude of the sound in yellow.

The ruler above it shows the time offset from the start of the file and the time shown in the lower left hand corner shows the offset of the mouse pointer.

The bar at the bottom shows the size in bytes and total duration of the file.

The slider on the right is a volume control.

Loading files

Sweep can use many formats as supported by libaudiofile, including AIFF, Sun/NeXT AU and RIFF (WAV).
